5 ways to destress after a long work week

Monica

Updated: May 4, 2019

A long hard work week can be mentally and physically exhausting. If you have not learned how to unwind and leave those stressful situations behind you, well it is time to gain some new tips.

1). Enjoy your commute home from work. Play some of your favorite music and transform your car into your very own karaoke machine. Music is a great way to relieve stress and can take your mind off of constantly replaying the days events in your head.

2). When you arrive home put on some comfortable clothing and take a nice walk, meditate or do yoga, these are also ways that can bring your stress level down.

3). After those relaxing exercises, you can then indulge in your favorite meal or snack. It is okay to treat yourself and will put a smile on your face.

4). Choose a funny or favorite movie or television show to watch or read your best novel. Being mentally distracted with activities that will make you laugh or take your thoughts in another direction is just what the doctor ordered.

5). To top the day off, take a nice hot shower or a bubble bath with candles to get that pampering effect that you deserve.

Enjoy the moment!
